Certified registered nurse anesthetists

A certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA) is a registered nurse with additional years of anesthesia specialty training and certification from the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists.

Your anesthesia will be administered either by an anesthesiologist or by a CRNA, who is under the medical direction of an anesthesiologist. Our anesthesia staff utilizes a team approach to provide your anesthetic care. This means that your anesthetic may be administered by more than one anesthesiologist or CRNA.

A member of the anesthesia staff will be with you the entire time you are having your surgery.
